We are in an era where digital learning is as important and crucial as traditional classroom learning. Almost everybody out there is seeking knowledge from one way or the other through them. While, there are many ways through which universities and online institutes are imparting their courses, here, let us discuss the prominent types of online learning
One of the most common ways of Digital Learning, here, the teacher interacts with students live via video conferencing (Zoom, Google Meet or at times their own software) just like live webinars. It can be either one-on-session or a class-like scene where multiple students are connected and live with the teacher.
In this type of distance learning the students are together at one place but the teacher is elsewhere at another location. The teacher and the students are connected with each other digitally either through video conferencing or tele conferencing.
In this type of digital education, students are given learning tasks, material and other sources of learning. There are no live online classes. They are supposed to self-study and complete the assignment before the deadlines. If you are enrolled in courses in Central Christian University many of our online courses work in this pattern including our graduate and post-graduate program.
Just like webinar or master classes, here, a student needs to visit a specific online place at a dedicated time and place. It is similar to synchronous learning where students and teachers are at different places but can connect from any part of the world and also interact online – asking questions and clearing doubts.
This is a type of asynchronous learning. However, here there are no deadlines. In open-schedule distance learning students are free to learn at their own time and space. This comes handy for working professionals, busy parents and others who might be involved in some sort of activities. The part-time PhD program by CCU works in this model.
Post the schools opened after the pandemic, we saw how some students attended the classes but many stayed at home. However, the same teacher taught them both offline and online in real-time. This is nothing but hybrid learning – where some students are physically present and some are studying remotely. These are some of the most common types of digital learning by virtue of which students can earn a degree online across the world via universities that offer online education.
